A green milestone for the Tillmann Group
We are absolutely delighted to share with you today a significant step towards sustainability at the Tillmann Group. This Thursday is a very special day for us, as we will be handing over the first shipment of low-carbon steel to our valued customer, Siemens! 🚀
This project is a prime example of how joint efforts and innovative approaches can bring about real change. The driving force behind this initiative was our partner Siemens, which has set itself ambitious targets to make its own operations carbon-neutral by 2030. This is a goal that we at the Tillmann Group fully support and wish to play an active part in achieving.
Our long-standing steel supplier, ArcelorMittal, plays a crucial role in this. ArcelorMittal supplies us with XCarb® low-carbon steel, which is produced using a state-of-the-art and significantly more efficient process. Instead of the blast furnace process commonly used here, the electric arc furnace process is employed. What makes this special is that, by using 100% renewable energy and steel scrap, CO2 emissions from steel production can be reduced by up to 70%! This is a real game-changer for the industry.
For us at the Tillmann Group, this is not only a milestone in our own sustainability strategy, but also a strong signal to the market. We are demonstrating that it is possible to deliver high-quality products whilst actively contributing to climate protection.
We are incredibly proud of our team and the excellent collaboration with Siemens Infrastructure and ArcelorMittal. Together, we are shaping a greener future!
Stay tuned for more updates and insights into our sustainable projects!
